Open Future staff are qualified teachers with passion. Obviously, even the best educationa lprogrammes, and we consider Middle Years Programme to be such one, have to be implemented by teachers who believe in it, who will get to know it well, and who will be implementing it consequently during their work with students. The programme is a tool to aid teachers in their work. We realise that competent, positively motivated teachers are a necessary factor for students’ success.
Cooperation between teachers is an important element of working in our Middle School. Knowledge mustn’t be divided into subjects, as students need to know that different disciplines concern various aspects of the same issues. E.g. during History classes, Napoleon’s wars should be discussed, at the same time Geography classes should concern the regions they took place in, during Polish classes – our national anthem should be analysed, as it includes a line about Napoleon Bonaparte, while during Science classes, students should calculate the speed of a bullet from Napoleon’s gun. Thanks to knowledge from different disciplines being merged, students remember a lot more and see a lot more sense in learning. Of course, teachers take a lot of time to plan the distribution of the content together, so that the aim of holistic teachig is achieved.
